ACLU Membership Conference Delivers Impressive Moments and Fond Memories

I attended the 2006 ACLU National Membership Conference in Washington, D.C. The excitement was electric from the moment of arrival at the lovely hotel until the moments of departure. I arrived knowing a handful of attendees from Florida, and left hugging and bidding farewell to members from all parts of the country.

I think the most impressive moments, were attending the forums of speakers that ranged from liberal politicians to ultra conservative TV personalities.

Watching the participation of the youth, high school and college students, was another highlight for me. These brilliant young people had created commercial-potential scenarios depicting the threat to civil and constitutional rights.

I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite experience. It was all enlightening, educational and action-provoking, yet thoroughly enjoyable. Oh yes, and the entertainment was top shelf.

Now, if I did not have prior engagements for that period. I would want to be in the next bus heading to Washington.
