Donna McKay, Director of Development (2/11/2002)

Donna McKay

Donna McKay, the ACLU's Director of Development, brings more than 18 years of fundraising, advocacy and management experience to the ACLU. Since joining the ACLU in early 2002, McKay has presided over a period of extraordinary growth, in which the ACLU's membership has nearly doubled and the budget has nearly tripled.

Her career includes experience in higher education and relief organizations as well as an eight-year association with Planned Parenthood: first as director of program funding for its New York City affiliate, then as development director and vice president for external affairs of its Chicago affiliate, with responsibility for resource development, communications and lobbying.

Before joining the ACLU, McKay was vice president for development at the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, managing a large national staff as well as four chapter office operations and raising nearly $60 million annually.

McKay received a graduate degree in nonprofit management and urban policy from the New School for Social Research in New York City.
