President Obama: The Whole World Is WatchingAs President Obama travels overseas, the ACLU reminds him that in order to restore America's name around the world, we must end indefinite detention and close Guantánamo. This ad appears in the July 10, 2009, edition of the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera:

Good for you! I hope President Obama sees it.

ACLU: THE WHOLE WORLD IS WATCHING
• When will naive and deceived civil libertarians realize that the "program" referenced by Leon Panetta is destroying the lives and livelihoods of American citizens...
...denying untold thousands nationwide their human and civil liberties...
...an officially-sanctioned contagion of extralegal, high-tech targeting and punishment.
ACLU is coming dangerously close to practicing hypocrisy by its refusal to address home-govern, officially-enabled domestic terrorism.

APPARENT MALICIOUS INTERFERENCE, OVERT CENSORSHIP
OF INTERNET TELECOMMUNICATIONS INTENSIFIES
IN WAKE OF 'PANETTA'S BOX' REVELATIONS
OF SECRET CIA INTEL PROGRAM
• Desperate attempt to cover up a much broader covert 'multi-agency coordinated action program" of nationwide extra-legal targeting and punishment -- using a GPS-enabled citizen volunteer vigilante army recruited from federally-funded volunteer and public safety agencies and "directed energy weapons" torture?

Why is it that every legitimate effort by ACLU to get to the truth attracts the "tinfoil brigades" like moths to the flame?
They are the only organization doing ANYTHING substantial about government surveillance, and then people like "poster #2" want to lash out and call them hypocrites.
Tell you what, Mr. Livingston: "Pick up a weapon and join the fight"-come to a meeting, make a phone call--SOMETHING. This war against the government is won in the courts and the courts of public opinion--not by armchair activists that merely want to criticize the only organization left that speaks truth to power.

Sure, let the terrorits go free. I hope you ACLU assholes become their targets once they are released.

I don't know anything about the high-tech weapons ("directed energy weapons"), but much of the rest of it is "dead on". American citizens (good, law-abiding, productive (or formerly productive) people) are being targeted, discredited, marginalized, psychologically harassed and more.
Homes are being searched (without warrants)and property vandalized and/or stolen. The lives of good citizens are quite literally being stolen. These campaigns of terror must be exposed and stopped.

Dear Pres. Obama,
It is very important that you stand firm on the issue of indefinite term for detainees. This must not happen - it is not the way our democracy should work. These people deserve a trial and whatever comes out of that trial. Thank you.
Also, I urge you to continue to demand that a robust public health insurance option be included in the health care bill. Thank you.

These people who are detained do not have rights in the USA. Hussien OBAma is going to detroy this country, he has lied more then Bush, spent more money then all the pres. together. and has no morals of any religion.

LET THE U.S. CONSTITUTION, ALL HUMAN RIGHTS LAW, THE WORLD COURT LAWS, AND ALL RATIONAL LAWS, CONCERNING HUMAN RIGHTS, ARREST, DETENTION, AND SENTENCING OF ANYBODY BE KEPT IN EFFECT AS THEY STAND, AND REVERSE AND RITES OR SUBVERTING LAWS THAT HAVE BEEN PASSED BY ANYBODY.

I just posted this on the other thread. Close it! Let them move all the terriost to U.S. prisons! I think it is an awesome idea. Move them out of that cush Gitmo and put them with REAL prisoners and let them get raped, beat and killed. Sounds like a pretty good idea. The ACLU is shooting there self in the foot with this one and it makes me laugh. Out loud.

What kind of porn have you been watching Rob?
Jul 14th, 2009 at 3:52pm
Sorry, but I think terrorism does not conform to the rules and regulations set forth by civilized countries regarding detainees and though their type of justice is not in our realm we must keep them confined and unable to go out and commit other murders, for choice of another word. We for the most part play by the rules, but they do not....so we must keep the detained. What the USA does not seem to comprehend is that in those areas of the world this type of brutality is the norm for those who do not agree. I just am afraid that with the world beginning to become so mobile and available to all that we will acclimate to the lower standard rather than encourage our own.
naturalized citizen from WW2 as a child with no choices but all the better for them...from europe

Re Anon on July 11/2009.
And you have personal experience of this or are you simply repeating the same old bullshit that is bandied about by your average uninformed redneck and someone happened to send you in an email.

Paen 1st I dont look at porn 2nd you are so blind. Have you ever been to a jail? If not you need to go. Not a county jail but a state prison. Most will let you take a tour. I think it is not a place like you are thinking. It is a VERY bad place. There are very bad people there. That is why it is called a jail and people dont want to go there. I say let them come. Let the American prisoners take care of the terriost.

To "Gord":
I speak from personal experience. People can choose to believe it or not -- I don't care one whit. To be silent, however, isn't an option.
I'll admit that it all seems pretty unbelievable and this is one of the reasons that these operations are able to continue without exposure. Someone needs to blow the whistle and fast because fascism has indeed come to America.

you people no longer represent the American people, you represent all ass holes that want to bring American to it knees and distroy everything it used to be. I am old, thank God, and will be leaving this Country. So I will no longer see you and your kind distroy it. But when you look around and see that the USA means nothing and you wonder why. Look at your on damn self for you are the fools that distroyed it. My God send you all to hell and my God bless America. I realize you will not read this or understand the message even if you do but this is for me and the many people that believe like me. And I will say it again MY GOD BLESS AND PROTECT AMERICA FROM FOOLS LIKE YOU AND YOUR KIND.

Hehe...LMAO.....ROFL........you bastards LOST the case to remove the Mojave Cross erected by WWI Veterans for themselves and all who have made the ultimate sacrifice for us to remain free. I know whose voice you listen to. I know who drives you and whose thoughts own your souls. I and millions of true Americans who know that this nation is a Judeo-Christian nation founded on the Principles of God and the Bible (where our laws come from). We will never allow you blind, self-serving idiots to change, remove or redefine in any way the intent of our Founding Fathers or the Constitution. If you don't like this country, get your ass out. Oh yea, get used to more losses like this one!

I believe that the detainees should be kept in small sweat boxes somewhere in the middle of Afghanistan so they can reflect on the poor life decisions they made. Once reformed, at the age of 82, they should be set free and integrated back into the great Progressive Muslim Society.

There are squads of goons that are stalking people in communities across this country. It's called by many names: organized stalking, group stalking, gang stalking, community-based harassment or stalking...
Some who have been targeted make claims that seem pretty unbelievable, even to me. Having said this, it is clear that these groups are committing crimes against law-abiding individuals and, yet, no one will investigate or do anything to bring these crimes to light.
Many good Americans are for all intents and purposes screaming in a vacuum, trying to expose this madness. Who among us - who in a position of power - who with an ear to those in a position of power will do something to try to stop what are truly crimes against humanity?
It's shameful that no one will help.

Please contact me on this issue. I am a victim of it. I need legal advice on the subject. I have called numerous times. I believe my family & do this. The same thing has been going on since 1978. They call and threaten mine & my daughter's life. My brother Edward Epperson told me it was planned for the police to do it. Please contact me @ reggaeromper@breakthru.com

I don't feel that it is a good idea to close Guantánamo. I also think some healh care reform may be needed to drive down cost but first let me see the congress not be exempt from the plan and some reform done on all the law suits that exist that drive health care costs up. The answer is bringing cost down so others can afford, not buying it for everyone that don't want to pay. I also am sadden that the aclu is trying to punish teachers for praying in the school. That is what the youth in the country needs - prayer. This country was founded and rooted in the christian faith. Look at the history of the original Decration of Independance founders. Other religion should be allowed to exist also but the belief in God is what made this country so great!
Thank You.

As Sinclair Lewis said, "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." We're in big trouble folks.

America was NOT founded on Christian faith. Stop making up shit to support your opinion. "No religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States." Christian morals are respected but faith in a god has no place in civic government. From what Ive seen, most of the crazy people in this world are zeolots for one religion or another.
