CIA Torture Report Due Monday
Four long delays later, the CIA's Office of the Inspector General is due to release its May 2004 report on the legality and effectiveness of the CIA’s torture program on Monday, August 24. We received this report as part of our Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit in May 2008, but it was so heavily redacted (PDF), it told us very little. So we've been litigating for a less-redacted version, and that's what we're hoping to finally see on Monday.
In the July 11 Newsweek article that first reported Attorney General Eric Holder is considering investigating Bush-era torture policies, Daniel Klaidman wrote:
[I]n late June Holder asked an aide for a copy of the CIA inspector general's thick classified report on interrogation abuses. He cleared his schedule and, over two days, holed up alone in his Justice Department office, immersed himself in what Dick Cheney once referred to as "the dark side." He read the report twice, the first time as a lawyer, looking for evidence and instances of transgressions that might call for prosecution. The second time, he started to absorb what he was reading at a more emotional level. He was "shocked and saddened," he told a friend, by what government servants were alleged to have done in America's name.So with the release of this report on Monday, we're also hoping Holder will announce a criminal investigation. But this investigation can't just zero in on the rogue interrogators who acted outside the scope of the torture memos. It should proceed as any criminal investigation would: by simply following the facts where they lead, without limitations or political considerations.
It isn't too late to encourage the Attorney General to do the right thing and investigate torture. Send him evidence of torture today.

The following statement is from the home page of the ACLU website: "The ACLU is our nation's guardian of liberty, working daily in courts, legislatures and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties that the Constitution and laws of the United States guarantee everyone in this country." So, why is the ACLU defending terrorists? Terrorists are not citizens. They do not fit into categories defined in the Geneva and I have not read anything in our constitution about Freedom and Fairness for those who would gladly kill US citizens!

And another probable cause to investigate! Kind of ah like, a search warrant! You need proof to search a house and everything your going to find or acquire during a investigation!

PROBABLE CAUSE! People think you don't need probable cause to investigate, well then why do you need a search warrant to investigate a house which is PROBABLE CAUSE!

LATEST CIA TORTURE MEMO RELEASE: ANOTHER WHITEWASH...
...TO COVER UP MICROWAVE / LASER RADIATION WEAPONS TORTURE -- AT GITMO, IN IRAQ, AND AT HOME?
• When will President Obama wake up and smell the security/military/intel police state that threatens democracy, makes a mockery of the rule of law -- and subverts his presidency?
• POTUS must assert command over secretive security executive branch saboteurs and military/intel Dr. Strangeloves
Today's the day the Justice Department is supposed to release more redacted CIA torture memos.
So far, the big "revelation" is that a power drill was held to a prisoner's head.
Now quite as dramatic as the likely truth:
That microwave and laser radiation "directed energy weapons" have been used to -- in the words of a recent Senate Armed Services Commitee report -- "induce" weakness, fatigue, exhaustion, mood changes and confusion...
The same sort of ELECTROMAGNETIC TORTURE widely reported by victims of a what is reputed to be a covert "multi-agency coordinated action program" of DOMESTIC extrajudicial targeting and punishment aimed at U.S. citizens deemed to be "dissidents" and "undesirables."
Is THIS what today's torture memo redactions are trying to whitewash?

How to begin??? Not sure but here goes!
Everytime I hear of the ACLU fighting against the torture of terrorist I think of the day I watched the second aircraft fly into the second Twin Tower and the collapse of both buildings and the shear terror and anger it struck in my heart.
I HAVE HAD ENOUGH of these libertarians!!! These people think that their opinion is the only one that is right, well I have always been one to think that everyone has a right to their opinion, which has NOW CHANGED!!!
In the history of the United Sates we have fought with our hands bound and by rules, i.e. Korea, Vietnam, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, and with global terrorist. Time to cut the bindings from Uncle Sam and let’s fight them on the same level… “DOWN AND DIRTY”!!! It seems to me that when General 'Black Jack' Pershing fought by his own rules against the Muslim Terrorists the terrorism stopped.
HOW TO STOP ISLAMIC TERRORISTS...... it worked once in our History...
Once in U.S. history an episode of Islamic terrorism was very quickly stopped. It happened in the Philippines about 1911, when Gen. John J. Pershing was in command of the garrison. There had been numerous Islamic terrorist attacks, so "Black Jack" told his boys to catch the perps and teach them a lesson.
Forced to dig their own graves, the terrorists were all tied to posts, execution style. The U.S. soldiers then brought in pigs and slaughtered them, rubbing their bullets in the blood and fat. Thus, the terrorists were terrorized; they saw that they would be contaminated with hogs' blood. This would mean that they could not enter Heaven, even if they died as terrorist martyrs.
All but one was shot, their bodies dumped into the grave, and the hog guts dumped atop the bodies. The lone survivor was allowed to escape back to the terrorist camp and tell his brethren what happened to the others. This brought a stop to terrorism in the Philippines for the next 50 years.
Pointing a gun into the face of Islamic terrorists won't make them flinch.
They welcome the chance to die for Allah. Like Gen. Pershing, we must show them that they won't get to Muslim heaven (which they believe has an endless supply of virgins) but instead will die with the hated pigs of the devil.
I think I will start up my own group and enlist American’s who are tired of running scared with our “tails between our legs” to pull up our bootstraps and kick some ASS!!!
Most likely you will not provide me with information to get my “Opinion” out there and you could take this as another “Nut-Case” but I will tell you that I’m a 54 year old, laid-off, father of 3 gorgeous teenage daughters, and am perfectly sane. I’m just tired and worried about what we are leaving our children, my children.
I am sorry for the rant but I AM PISSED,
Brad Williams

Some issues are better left alone. We have to put the protection of our citizens and soldiers first. The enemy will only grow stronger with the release of this vital information. We cannot be our own enemy!

Obama has been in power for 7 months now but his Attorney General is only now considering investegating torture.
What a disgrace.

Has the report been released? I've searched for it at the CIA, DOJ, and White House sites, to no avail. Is it being released precisely at 5:00 pm on Monday?

What is wrong with the procedures of the CIA and more importantly, why is it any of the ACLU's business. Most of you are just a bunch of cowards and would never be found in a war zone. I pray that your orgaanization is found to be unAmerican and forced to cease and desist with your absurd propaganda.
May the truth prevail.
God Bless America

Sometimes I really don't understand the ACLU. The last time I heard ACLU stood for "American" Civil Liberties Union. Why don't they focus on the unjust actions to Americans?
In regard to the subject of torture, maybe the ACLU can tell me if; shoving small pieces of bamboo under the fingers and toenails, pushing small glass tubes into the penis and smashing it, pushing pieces of chlorine into the sinus, and finally beheading would be considered torture? These are things done to American soldiers in war. The second one above was done to a fellow marine and friend in Vietnam. So pardon me if I don't think threatening a Muslims family, turning on a drill and scaring them, or even water boarding are torture!!

I'm with Wayne and Brad. I'm sick of hearing from the ACLU...Try standing up for our country or take the detainees home and you go with them...find justice in their country. Leave our CIA alone...I like to know I'm being protected by these brave Americans!

Hey ACLU!!
Does your organization realize there is God in heaven for which you will answer to one day.
Shame on you for infringing on people's rights to pray to the God (our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ), our God Almighty, the Creator, the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings, and ask for his blessings on our lives and to show our love and loyalty to Him. You have your priorities upside down and backwards.
Tell us, how would you be able to breathe the air He has given each and everyone of us, including you ACLU!!
If you are for the terrorists rights, the immigrants rights, the thieves rights, etc. your against us and your against truth and our God.
Start reading the Bible and stop putting a twist on and bending the laws to fill your own greedy pockets. Wake up ACLU, your souls are at stake.
"John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosever believe in him, will not perish, but have everlasting life."
Keep this in mind. If the truth is not in you, then you don't know Our God.
And finally, I want to say thank you to our Service Men and Women who sacrifice their lives for our freedoms. I also pray that God will give them a peace that surpasses all understanding.

A basic principal of international law and the law of armed conflict permits reciprocity. If one combatant violates a principal then a proportional response is authorized. The terrorists do not wear uniforms and operate in clearly defined military vehicles or limit there staging to clearly identified military facilities. They attack and hide thereafter in civilian populations. We are completely authorized to do targeted attacks in the areas the terrorists hide. When we capture them, they are unlawful combatants who should be held until the end of the conflict. They chose to fight in this fashion, well, this is the consequence because we have a right to prevent them from taking up arms against us until the conflict ends. The conflict won't end until there is assurance that the terrorist organizations have truly renounced their threat to the United States and its interests. The ACLU hides behind the same constitution that these terrorist organizations view with utter contempt. There is no right to kill Americans in any dreamed up penumbra.
