Description: Allen Hopper, Legal Director of the ACLU Drug Law Reform Project, discusses major developments in the case In the Matter of Lyle Craker during a teleconference following a Drug Enforcement Administration Judge's ruling in Craker's favor. The ACLU is representing Craker, a professor at UMASS-Amherst, in his bid to secure a DEA license to cultivate marijuana for use in Food and Drug Administration-approved research aimed at developing marijuana into a prescription medicine. The Judge's decision will serve as a recommendation to DEA administrators who have final say over Craker's application.
