District Court Decision in Sullivan et al v. City of Augusta (12/22/2005)

Description: U.S. District Court Judge John A. Woodcock, Jr. issued an order striking down an Augusta, Maine, parade ordinance, finding that the city unfairly imposed fees and rules on the rights of peaceful protesters seeking to march and gather in the state capital. The ruling comes in a case brought by the Maine Civil Liberties Union.
