  • Disparities in School Discipline - In Lee County, Florida, 1 out of every 3 black high school students receives an In-School Suspension (ISS) during the course of the school year and 1 out of every 4 receives an Out-of-School Suspension (OSS Minority students with disabilities are particularly vulnerable. African-American students with disabilities are three times more likely to receive short-term suspensions than their white counterparts, and are more than four times as likely to end up in correctional facilities. p. 147-148
