Orders Governing Logistics of Defense Counsel Access and Written Communications Management with Detainees Involved in Military Commissions (December 27, 2011)
The NDAA codified a dangerous law that allows the military to indefinitely detain civilians, without charge or trial, captured far from any traditional battlefield. The Smith-Amash amendment is the only opportunity to fix the indefinite detention provisions of last year's NDAA.
