American Civil Liberties Union

There has never been a more urgent need to preserve fundamental privacy protections and our system of checks and balances than the need we face today, as illegal government spying, provisions of the Patriot Act and government-sponsored torture programs transcend the bounds of law and our most treasured values in the name of national security.

ACLU Seeks Government Accountability
For No-Fly List

Rebecca Gordon et al., v. FBI et al.,

The American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California has filed a federal lawsuit challenging a secret "no fly" list maintained by the Federal government. The lawsuit was necessary because the government has refused to confirm the existence of any protocols, procedures or guidelines as to how the "no fly" lists were created or to detail how they are being maintained or corrected -- and how people who are mistakenly included on the list can get off.
