The ACLU of Florida filed a request on May 24, 2006, for the Public Service Commission to investigate whether local phone companies have shared customers' phone records with the NSA. AT&T and BellSouth have denied allegations that they have cooperated with the NSA. The commission has given no formal response to the request for an investigation. The ACLU filed Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests for documents relating to the Pentagon's program of spying on peace groups. This confirmed target is an organization whose name has appeared in Pentagon Threat and Local Observation Notices (TALON) documents:
