Sixth Episode Wraps up Exciting Season of ACLU’s FreedomWatch TV
Series MIAMI -- The American Civil Liberties Union of Florida’s
Greater Miami Chapter presents the last episode of this season’s informative
;FreedomWatch; series, airing on Miami-Dade;s Cable-TAP channel. The show, which
is currently running, takes a look at “zero-tolerance” policies aimed at
students and asks the question: Do Zero Tolerance Policies Provide Equal
Protection -- or are these policies based on Racial
Profiling? Student Rights - Do Zero Tolerance Policies Provide
Equal Protection airs July 18 - 27 and is hosted by Carlene M. Sawyer, Executive
Director of The Murray Dranoff Foundation. Invited guests are Oscar
Umana and Osvaldo Mondis who are students at PowerU. Check your

Civilian Oversight of Police Activities in Miami; The Most Difficult Choice –
Reproductive Rights in America Today, airing May 23-June 1; Who’s American
Today? Comprehensive Immigration Reform, airing June 6-14; Freedom of Speech –
Here and Abroad, airing June 20-29; Privacy and Executive Power – Security or
Violation, July 4-18; and Student Rights – Do Zero Tolerance Policies Provide
Equal Protection, airing July 18-27(currently showing). The
television show, produced by the ACLU of Florida Greater Miami Chapter, airs
Tuesdays and Thursdays, now through July 27 at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on the
following channels: Ch. 21 Adelphia Miami-Dade, Ch. 36 Adelphia Key Biscayne,
Ch. 78 Atlantic Broadband, Ch. 13 BellSouth (analog), Ch. 578 BellSouth
(digital), Ch. 78 Comcast Aventura, Ch. 78 Comcast Doral, Ch. 78 Comcast
Kendall, Ch. 78 Comcast Miami, Ch. 78 Comcast North, Ch. 78 Comcast Opa Locka,
Ch. 78 Comcast West, and Ch. 35 Strategic Technologies. The ACLU's
educational series is airing under the auspices of The Miami-Dade County Cable
Television Access Project (Cable-TAP) -- a joint venture of Miami-Dade College
School of Entertainment and Design Technology, and the Miami-Dade County
government -- which was established to provide technical and creative services
to Miami-Dade County non-profit organizations, educational institutions and
governmental agencies on the production of television programming. Together they
interconnect to almost 500,000 households in Miami Dade
County.
