A life income plan may be the perfect way for you to make a gift while providing an income for yourself or others. The ACLU Foundation offers a number of life income plans, one of which may suit your personal and financial objectives. While the details vary, these plans all offer the following benefits:
Payments to you and/or another beneficiary for life or a term of years;
An immediate federal income tax charitable deduction; A potential increase in income; A reduction or possible avoidance of capital gains tax on appreciated property; A potential reduction of your taxable estate; and The satisfaction of helping to secure individual liberties for future generations.Some of the most popular Life Income Plans are as follows:
Charitable Gift Annuity: Through this contract with the ACLU Foundation, you make a donation and receive fixed payments for your and/or an additional beneficiary's life.
The following are sample rates for a one-life and two-life charitable gift annuity with the ACLU Foundation:

Pooled Income Fund: Contributions to the Liberty Fund are pooled together and invested to generate income for Fund participants. Your gift will allow you to receive variable quarterly payments for life.
Charitable Remainder Trust: Charitable Remainder Trusts are separately invested trusts, allowing you the flexibility of choosing the number of beneficiaries and specific rate of return.
Charitable Lead Trust: By establishing a charitable lead trust, you will provide a steady stream of support to the ACLU Foundation for a specified number of years, after which the trust assets will revert back to you or a beneficiary of your choosing.
