Education is one of the most effective ways to secure full equality between men and women in society. But a recent movement to expand sex-segregation in public education and the ongoing failure of many schools and universities to adequately address sexual harassment and assault of students continue to deprive many girls and women of equal educational opportunities. The ACLU is working to restore and strengthen the protections guaranteed by Title IX so as to ensure equal access to educational opportunity and resources for all students.
