ACLU of Puerto Rico

The ACLU's mission is to fight against violations of the civil liberties guaranteed by our legal system. We fight against such violations wherever and whenever necessary. Most of our clients are ordinary citizens who have suffered injustices and have decided to defend themselves.

The ACLU also works actively through local chapters, fighting to ensure that constitutional guarantees and statutes guaranteeing the civil rights of citizens are not merely a "parchment barrier" against the oppression and tyranny of the majority.

The ACLU is supported by annual dues and contributions from its members, as well as by donations from private foundations and individuals. We do not receive any type of government funding.
