Four Women, Folded Females by Heidi Lanino

Four Women, Folded Females 2020
Fragmented paper forms pieced back together, acrylic and charcoal on paper (35" x 47" framed)

This piece is part of a series of works that are made intuitively using paper, folded to create a portrait of the female, portraying both strength and vulnerability in their various forms. These Folded Females explore the process of folding and unfolding oneself in response to each moment of the female lived experience. Four Women reflects upon the female experience, reproductive rights, women’s rights, the Me-Too movement, supporting woman of color, sharing a mutual bond, our history, and personal stories. We are not alone.
