Because freedom can't protect itself
I don't get it. How does anyone in this country think that these detainees in Guantanamo are going to be treated fairly by our so-called just American government, when this same government has imprisoned an innocent American family in what I was sarcastically told was a "typical Chinese prison". Also, when I have attempted to fight for my freedom, every avenue has been thwarted by network intervention.First, because I was not overtly tried and convicted of anything, all legal channels are impossible because I can't even prove my arrest. Second, everyone who is knowledgable of the situation is not allowed to admit it or converse with me about it based on orders received from network leaders. My extended family, because they are part of the network, not only won't help but aid in the imprisonment and harassment. They had me hospitalized in a setting set-up to continue the harassment and then arranged counselling against my will(because I was telling the truth). Oh, by the way, this occurred in the USA not the former Soviet Union. Then, I met my counsellor who tells me that he knows what it is like to be watched by the government because, when he was younger, he had attended a KKK rally and when the government finds this out about a person they are automatically put on an FBI list. At this high point of my experience, I said to myself,"It's over. I'm done!"(this is an absolutely true story). All of this done by a government proclaiming that it wants to spread freedom throughout the world. What freedom! You've imprisoned an innocent family without trial or conviction just because I was naive enough to voice my theories and opinions aloud about the agenda this government is trying to implement! All I hear lately from various networkers is how great China is.Doesn't anyone read about the human rights abuses in that country? Religious rights in China are being trampled if you don't belong to the government sanctioned church. Not only has the true Catholic Church gone underground (this church is not the Catholic Patriotic Association) but also other religions and religious sects have been terribly persecuted. Again, these are the religions that are not part of the government sanctioned Church. This persecution has included the closing of mosques, the raiding of religious meetings, the reeducation of religious leaders, and the censoring of religious publications. (Read this on Human Rights News:"China: A Year After New Regulations, Religious Rights Still Restricted"). Besides denying religious freedom, China is rampant with other humean rights abuses. Read the article today from "Time" by Scott McDonald entitled:"China: Human Rights Still Poor" in which I quote verbatim that these abuses range from "extensive use of detention without trial to the persecution of civil rights activists and new methods to rein in the domestic media and censor the internet." Why does all this sound familiar? Oh yeah, it's happening here in the US. So as you have talk radio sound bites playing "let freedom ring" maybe the American people need to be reminded that it is freedom on their terms only. You either believe in all of their policies or your freedom is gone.
