  1. Sean Says:

I can't take credit for the idea, but someone once said "If marriage is so sacred to straight people, then we should make divorce illegal. Then let's see how sacred it is.." or something along those lines. It's funny how so many people are defending this "holy union" from "the gays", yet there are no heteros picketing against divorce. You would have to be a complete idiot to think that gay marriage is going to cause every straight marriage to fail, so why are heteros even having a voice on the issue? It's not like any of the people arguing against it will ever have to worry about being tricked into it by gay magic. I've yet to hear or read anyone give a reason for denying us this right that is not purely emotional. Aguing that things shouldn't be changed simply because they've been that way for so long is ridiculous. Arguing that we get the same rights and benefits through domestic partnership is stupid because first off, we don't. Second, if we did, then what is the problem with allowing us to use the term "marriage"? It's as if heteros have copyrighted the institution and don't want anyone infringing. It won't harm others, it won't harm our country's infrastructure or economy. Then what would be the reason? Change. A lot of people can't accept change because they are comfortable with what seems to be permanent and no matter what else changes, at least they have that rock to cling to for peace of mind. Should that rock be taken away, they might just have to accept the fact that sometimes you can be wrong, and longitude isn't a sign of righteousness. There was a time when blacks couldn't go to school, and people fought to keep it that way, but that changed. There was a time when women couldn't vote, and people fought to keep it that way, and that changed. We are living in a time where same sex couples can't marry, and that will change. Maybe not this month or year or decade, but it will change eventually. It will change because the demand for it to change will not go away. The determination to make it change will only grow stronger, and there will only be more and more people standing behind it. Anyone who doubts this can look at prop 8 to see the truth. Prop 8 wasn't a crushing defeat, it only served to make the voice louder, to draw more attention to the issue. Nobody said "well, we tried our best, now let's go home.". It was immediately on to the next move and it is still an issue because it is a legitamate issue and the only thing holding it back is people's reluctance to change or accept change. It WILL change. Accept it.

  2. Shawn Blue Says:

The problem isn't people thinking marriage should be defined between a man and a woman. If you beleive that, that's fine you have that right. If you beleive homosexuality is a sin, fine, you have that right.

However, you cross a fine line when you say things like "Fuck fags" and "Faggots burn in hell" and other stuff. You do realize that you're insulting children, too, when you say that? You do understand that some young children have 2 mommys or 2 daddys?

What about the hundreds of thousands of teens that commit suicide every year because they're gay. Is hating your neighbor something to be proud of? Did Jesus not have dinner with prostitutes and the homeless, with tax collectors and sinners? Did He ever insult them, ever put them down? You know who he insulted, the Pharisees who put others down and are the equivalent of those evil, narrow-minded hateful beings that stand on the corners with signs saying "Thank God for AIDS".

Go ahead, reply and say something like "WHAT IS WRONG WITH AMERICA THERE R GAYS OH NOES" but know this: while you're out protesting gay rights, I'll be out protesting hunger and poverty and rape. I'll be condeming evil people, like rapists and murderers and thieves and pedophiles, not two people who are a little weird and like those of the same sex and both consent and hurt none. Maybe, if you took the time to know gays, you'd realize they are people too and some are good, some are bad.

  3. Shawn Blue Says:

Oh and im sick of people quoting scripture randomly. The hell with your book of myths written 2000 years ago by uneducated Bronze Age desert nomads. It's irrelevant and God orders the rape of young girls and genocide and slavery & other such horrible things. When's the last time you saw a talking snake? The last time you saw a man rise from the dead, or walk on water? When have you seen someone survive in the belly of a whale for days/months? It's ridiculous, utter bull, and I cannot beleive people still believe it's true in the year 2009.

I'm Nonreligious. I have the right to be, look it up. Don't like what I said? Go ahead, try to get me arrested.

    Bet you can't. =)

  4. 7ft Says:

The problem with people today is that they are selfish. Hardly anyone can see past their own selfish wants. The people of today's society are all a bunch of whiney babies. "but, but, but they get to do it, why can't I?" Gays, Lesbians, Bi's, and transsexuals all need to shut up, along with the minorities who scream that this country is unfair. Your a minority, that means that you are less representative of society and as such, your wants are not as important as the majority. You would never go into a friend's house and demand he/she move their furniture to make you happy. That would be disrespectful. Asking our government to change its centuries of traditions and practices for you is the same thing-disrespectful. You all also have tolerance confused with acceptance.

  5. Linda Petersen Says:

Do you have agencies in North Carolina?

  6. Jack Suconik Says:

No I am not gay, but I do hope that they, snd lesbians proliferate. I so hope because fecundity if not in some way curtailed, may be the causal fctor of our collective incineration. So come on out You guys and gals that are still hiding, and save the world from itself.

  7. Zionist Detstroyer Says:

When is the Jewish ACLU going to help the Palestinians in Israel get justice?

Funny how the Jews in America want America to be racially and religiously diverse while supporting the Bigot State of Israhell.

  8. bonnie Says:

as for gay rights, i have a relative who came out of the lifestyle. she chose to go into and chose to come out of it . i know of others who have come out of the lifestyle. as far as the claim being born that way, well everyone has something they need to overcome. if you were born that way than i guess you were a molester from the beginning. you're putting your foot in your mouth.a druggie, prostitute all choose to go into that lifestyle and choose to come out of . homosexuals are not the only people in the world who claim to have no self control over feelings. besides it's not about feelings, it's choices , what's right and wrong, if we don't have right and wrong, than you are animals and not human beings.check out www.exodusinternational.org. hope

  9. Tom Jones Says:

Fast forward 15 years - Gay marriage is now 'acceptable' in our homogenized society. The pandora's box has now been swung open wide because of the persistent homosexual agenda. Tell me honestly from that point forward what won't become acceptable? What about a 34 year old man who now claims that he is 'in love' with a 9 year old boy...hey, they're "in love" so why should that love be denied the same 'rights' that everyone else right? Let's face it folks if we were completely a homosexual society we would cease to exist - extinction. So to claim that this life style is 'normal' or should be viewed by the world as acceptable is beyond logic. Simply put, just because you are committed to this 'agenda' doesn't mean that it is the right thing to do. Have some integrity.

  10. doc Says:

The 1920's movement of the ACLU will forever haunt you. Enjoy the little time your organization has left. Soon your funding from the government shall end as it did for ACORN. Not any of your attorneys nor the President will be able to help the crumble of your organization...as it comes from the inner structure you have built on...as things shall come to pass. Welcome to the new age of the internet! Gotta love it! We are asking all Christians to start suing you and tying all monies that you have, millions of frivolous lawsuits like you have done over the years.....God I love America!!!!!!!

  11. Curmudgeon Says:

"What if someone wants to marry his goat or dog or child?" Totally specious argument. Marriage is a legal contract. Legal contracts require "informed consent" from all parties to the contract. How do you get informed consent from a child, a goat, a dog? "Against stupidity the gods themselves contend in vain." -- Friedrich Schiller.

  12. Johnny B Says:

I am not gay, but I have no problems at all with gay people. I believe they are equal to straight people, and that they should have all the same rights. Believe it or not though, I oppose gay marriage by the church. Why? It has nothing to do with rights, it has to do with the church. I see marriage gby a priest as a religious bond, and unfortunately the church does not approve of Gay marriage. I do however have no problem with marriage of two gay people by a public official. As i said, they should have all the same rights as straight people.

All the religions that condemns homosexuality must be reformed or banned by the society.

  14. Chuck Says:

For you FOOLS who are members of the ACLJ, ACORN or Freedom FROM Religion, please read the book of Romans 1:16-32. Ask yourself if what you are doing is worh the damnation of your soul. You may also have salvation if you turn from your evil ways and seek God. I pray that you do, for your sake.

  15. Chuck Says:

To ban from society, any religion that condemns homosexuality is a violation of the "Freedom Of Religion" protected by our civil rights. As for reforming such religions, we cannot change the Word and Command of God.

  16. Chuck Says:

To the gay community, I have posted two previous comments, but I would be remiss if I failed to mention that I too was once where you are now. Although not Gay, I was Bi. However, I have come to realize my transgressions and turned from those ways. I turned to God and asked for His forgiveness and to open the eyes of my heart. You can too, its not too late. God is there, waiting for you.

For those of faith, do not judge others, but instead love them as God loves them. Prayer:

Lord, please give me your kind of eyesight so I can truly see what is right in front of me. To see the need and not the fault. To see someone you love and not an offensive person. To see someone you died for and not someone to avoid. And then I pray that your love and power will flow through me to minister to the need. In Jesus' name …

oh, so now it goes the other way. where is YOUR tolerance?

this is your real problem. You know your lifestyle is wrong. People try to warn you, and instead of listening, you want to shut them up.

Forever is a long time. Don't spend it in the wrong place.

  18. rightside Says:

Jiva, you need some serious help. I am sorry that you are a messed up individual. Go get in the closet and lock the door.

  19. rightside Says:

Gay people have the exact same rights that I do. To marry someone of the opposite sex. Next topic.

  20. Bri .A.K.A. Ur Mom, Says:

    ACLU vs. US Marines
THIS NEEDS TO GO AROUND THE USA MANY TIMES SO KEEP IT GOING
    What's wrong with this picture?

If you look closely at the picture above, you will note that all the Marines pictured are bowing their heads. That's because they're praying.
This incident took place at a recent ceremony honoring the birthday of the corps, and it has the ACLU up in arms. "These are federal employees," says Lucius Traveler, a spokesman for the ACLU , "on federal property and on federal time . .. .
For them to pray is clearly an establishment of religion, and we must nip this in the bud immediately."
When asked about the ACLU's charges, Colonel Jack Fessender, speaking for the Commandant of the Corps, said (cleaned up a bit), "Screw the ACLU." GOD Bless Our Warriors. Send the ACLU to Baghdad !
Just how stupid the ACLU is getting in trying to remove GOD from everything and every place in America May God Bless America , One Nation Under GOD!
What's wrong with the picture? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
GOD BLESS YOU & forgive you
