Because freedom can't protect itself
"we early accepted the idea that while it was for Congress to decide what laws to pass, it would be for the Courts to decide if those laws were fair and equal."
I hope we see this come into play with the hate crimes bill if it passes into law... because we are all equal.
The people voted.
"If you would win a man to your cause, first convince him that you are his sincere friend."
– Abraham Lincoln.
Over 6 million people voted in favor of Prop 8 -- but there are around 40 million people living in California. I am sick to death of hearing this clear minority referred to as "the will of the people." It was the will of a highly organized minority funded by out-of-state interests. If Prop 8 is upheld, we need to put on the ballot that Mormonism is not a legally recognized religion in California. Those folks stopped HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of dollars flowing into our state due to same-sex marriage celebrations, and now they've walked away and are doing nothing to compensate us all.
We mormons acted out of a conviction of what we beleive, as each of you did, and not out of ignorance. Speaking of which, history time, did you know that mormons were the ONLY religion in america that has had an unlawful execution order making it leagal to iradicate anyone of the faith. And that it remain legal for over a hundred year. Talk about rights being taken away. I have more to say but I think I'll end it there as I do have a tendency to rant.
You think that mormon and catholics are the only ones that voted on prop 8. Blacks, latinos, spanish, chinese all voted for Prop 8.
Those who who supposedly support. So do not blame your failure on the mormons or catholics. Blame it on your false premise
