Because freedom can't protect itself
And now the FLOOD of requests from citizens to the government demanding to know: A when a gag order was issued B. to whom C. for what (sic) untoward purpose, and D. the result of all investigation derived from this unconstitutional vehicle of government repression.
Brothers... on the carpet at well deserved long last.
REAL ID is a nationwide effort to improve the integrity and security of state-issued driver's licenses and identification cards, which in turn will help fight terrorism and reduce fraud.
The 9/11 Commission recommended that the U.S. improve its system for issuing identification documents, urging the federal government to set standards for the issuance of sources of identification. The REAL ID Act of 2005 was Congress' response to this key recommendation.
That was taken directly from the DHS website. Now what part of needing this act do you not understand???
I am in total support of this act. Why would you not want legal documentation proving that you are an American citizen and that you are who you say you are?? Sounds like another safety messure to me. Thank you big man government!!
SUPPORT THE REAL I.D. ACT!!!!
The Real I.D. Act just provides another avenue for identity theft. The technology already exists for criminals to steal credit card and pass port information from a distance so why would anyone assume encoded information on a drivers licensee be secure. These I.D.'s would carry much more detailed personal information than a standard drivers licensee.
