Because freedom can't protect itself
do you ever really think before you write? There are no upsides to trying these war criminals here...none. and don't give me your psychobabble about how we need to show the world how we're not afraid, and how great our american court system here.
There are no guarantees that if tried here, much of the testimony will be thrown out because of lack of mirandizing, use of enhanced interrogation techniques, etc. You cannot be foolish enough to deny this as a possibility. And why risk this?
also, should these thugs act as their own counsel, they'd be entitled to military secrets, and information that frankly, I don't want them to have....do you? Yeah...maybe you do.
