Because freedom can't protect itself
These new changes are outrageous! Facebook's privacy options get almost consistently worse and this issue needs more publicity.
Unsafe changes. Making the 'friends list' available on your searchable profile allows an ex to stalk your friends; only choice is to hide your profile - so no one can find you (except your current friends). I can no longer be a 'fan' of AA and NA pages because it's public information now (that can lead to job loss for some people). The only thing FB did was force me to hide my profile so that now no one can find me now. Their changes will cause isolation for some people, the opposite of the purpose of FB.
Please email me at Letsgoheels@earthlink.net. I have a recent complaint against Facebook and I can't find your contact info.
I don't want people stalking me. I don't want people who are not my friends to be able to see events, pages I am a fan of (unless they are going to the actual page itself), boxes, and applications I use when they access my profile in a search engine. FB, you have just turned this network into the ultimate stalking medium! For the sake of everyone, bring back the old privacy settings.
