Because freedom can't protect itself
I love that both views were included here. As a parent of multi-racial children, I have had similar conversations with my children. Thankfully my rainbow 'tribe' has seen and experienced both sides of this issue and it has made them sensitive to the prejudice that afflict this country. I wish what you wish; that ownership and acceptance brings change.
Ever wonder why police use racial profiling? because it works.
Of the approximately 1,700,000 interracial crimes of violence involving
blacks and whites, 90 percent are committed by blacks against whites.
Blacks are therefore up to 250 times more likely to do criminal violence to whites than the reverse.
Look it up on google.

I think that people shouldn't assume there is or is not racially motivated prejudice in the Trayvon case until all the facts are in. I don't agree with jumping to conclusions regardless of which side of the fence from which it comes.
To anonymous #3 : Really? You would say that the reason huh.
I'd say it's because they're stupid and that's not an ad hominem attack on them considering how many white people do technically illegal things (like smoking pot in the 80's) and are let off the hook by the boys in blue with a warning, but aren't that interested in warning black offenders.
That looks anything but intelligent from where I'm looking.
Besides that, I was witness to the worst kind of bigotry I've ever seen when after one of our comrades was killed in a napalm attack, one from his own side decided to make a disgustingly off-color remark about it, which he claimed was a joke. After everyone present had just watched the man burning alive and dying from a napalm strike, this cretin could find no other words than the horrendous ones he chose to speak and then insist it was a joke "to lighten the mood?"
Better if he'd been born with no mouth than to utter those words.
I've never seen anything more embarrassing in my life. Even the enemy was less embarrassing than that.
