Because freedom can't protect itself
Thank you for this sentence:
“Religious liberty requires that we protect both the right of free exercise for individuals of every faith and the right to remain free from governmental coercion and promotion of religion.”
I agree wholeheartedly. I, myself, have spent 10 days in jail recently because I am not free to exercise my religion thanks to governmental coercion and protection of one religion above another. Another member of my church was jailed for 30 days for the same.

The name of our church is a conviction, and a "sincerely-held religious belief" according to the Courts. Yet we are told the First Amendment does not apply. Is this what our country has become?
