Because freedom can't protect itself
I supporte abortions, but I believe you should pay for your own. Don't make the governement or your health insurance pay for you. It's your decision, take responsibility for it.
You did read the part where she got raped by a fellow soldier, right?
People don't choose to get raped, and when you're government property (which is what you are when you're in the military, you are not a full citizen) the government should absolutely have to pay for an abortion due to rape. The government should take care of its property.
I was government property too, for my entire first enlistment (never did a second), and I didn't get taken care of either. I just had severe nerve damage from Navy SEAL training, not something like a rape pregnancy, but it was pretty freaking bad. And guess what... they didn't do much for me either. Over 2 years just to get an MRI, never scheduled rehab, never gave me Ambien to help me sleep more than 30 minutes at a time, didn't take my request for depression counseling seriously... and compared to that woman, I got off lucky.
