Because freedom can't protect itself
doing away with the number of times a student can miss in school will make it better for everyone. no use putting people or kids in jail or fining them for that. that only hurts everyone.
I believe that the ACLU chooses their battles wisely. and refuse to persue cases that will have the greater impact.. ( example) in Louisiana 2010 the legislator passed a law giving people on parole credit toward their sentence. How ever this law was not clearly retor-active. their are thousand of people on parole who were never given their credit. ( jones vs cunninham 1963 the supreme court ruled ( a person on parole is not at liberty, and therefore in "custody' yet the louisiana D.O.C are continuelly extending sentences by refusing to credit parole time and then re-incarcerating for an additional lenght of time minus parole credit. this is clearly a violation of our constitutional rights to live at liberty. where is the ACLU ?
