Because freedom can't protect itself
Wouldn't it (in your flawed view of the First Amendment) be well within her rights to accept the money as payment to testify against him?
You say that a corporation giving money to a politician is free speech that needs to be protected. How is this any different? Here, they are soliciting testimony with $10,000. In elections corporations are soliciting favors and face-time for millions of dollars.
You may argue that her testimony deprives this man of his right to life. I would argue that the millions corporations spend on elections deprive me of my freedom of speech rights because I am drowned out in the political process.
Your stance on campaign finance is reform is countrary to everything else your organization believes in.
