Because freedom can't protect itself
I feel that there is no such thing as a second chance when you're an "African american". I have been out of prison for 8 years on an 11yr sentence for a case that happened 17 years ago in which they never had righteous evidence , I just had an inept attorney and no clear knowledge of the law, so I took a plea for a crime I didn't commit, but I was afraid /threatened. I went to school to become a drug and alcohol counselor, a mental health specialist and I'm currently enrolled in a University for a Bachelors in Psychology. I have applied for countless jobs for which I'm highly qualified/capable, but the livescan has prohibited me from getting hired even after favorable interviews.
