Bio
Gara LaMarche is President of the Democracy Alliance. He worked for the national ACLU and in senior positions in two state affiliates from 1976 to 1988, and served on the National Board and Executive Committee from 1989 to 1997. Following his ACLU years, LaMarche served in senior positions at Human Rights Watch and the Open Society Foundations, and as President of The Atlantic Philanthropies.
