Acting Chief Communications and Marketing Officer



Kriston Alford McIntosh serves as the Acting Chief Communications and Marketing Officer for the ACLU.

Prior to joining the ACLU, Kriston served as a managing director at Hamilton Place Strategies (HPS), where she helped clients navigate business challenges amid shifting political landscapes, with a focus on stakeholder engagement, crisis and litigation communications. She also has extensive experience partnering with nonprofit and advocacy organizations to advance their public affairs campaigns and coalition building efforts.

Kriston joined HPS from the Brookings Institution, where she was the managing director of The Hamilton Project. Immediately prior to The Hamilton Project at Brookings, Kriston served as a senior vice president in the Washington, D.C. office of Edelman Public Relations and as an adjunct faculty member at Georgetown University’s Master of Professional Studies in Public Relations and Corporate Communications program.

Kriston’s Congressional experience includes serving as the staff director of the U.S. Senate Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee and as a senior policy advisor to Congressman John Lewis (D-GA). Earlier in her career, Kriston held positions at the United Nations Foundation and in the Office of Congressman John Conyers (D-MI).

Kriston’s commentary has been published in outlets including CNN Business, BBC News, The Hill, and The Detroit Free Press. She holds a B.S.J. from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism.
