Bio
Will Hughes is a Staff Attorney in the ACLU Voting Rights Project. He litigates voting rights cases across the country.
Will began his legal career as a fellow in the Voting Rights Project, where he helped bring cases seeking COVID-19 accommodations for voters and challenging state laws restricting ballot access. He then completed a fellowship with the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University, working on issues of free speech in the digital age. Prior to returning to the ACLU, he clerked for Judge Lorna Schofield and Judge Dale E. Ho of the Southern District of New York and Judge Arianna Freeman of the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
Will received his J.D. magna cum laude from NYU School of Law, where he was a Hays Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Fellow and an Articles Editor for the NYU Law Review. He received his B.A. in Mathematics and English Literature from Columbia University.
