Bio

Brittney Belwine is a Skadden Fellow with the ACLU Disability Rights Program where she represents people with disabilities in California seeking to avoid or exit conservatorship. Britt graduated from the University of Michigan Law School, where she served as a Notes Editor for the Michigan Journal of Law Reform and received the Jane L. Mixer Award. She interned at Disability Rights California and spent two years as a student attorney in the Michigan Innocence Clinic, representing people who were wrongfully convicted. Prior to law school, Britt worked as a paralegal on prisoners’ rights and solitary confinement cases, and was a Law Fellow at the Coelho Center for Disability Law, Policy, and Innovation. She received a B.A. with honors from the University of Chicago.
