No Kidding in Texas

By Rachel Hart, Reproductive Freedom Project at 12:04pm
Marketplace ran a story yesterday about a program in Texas called No Kidding that attempts to persuade teens not to have sex by educating them about the costs of raising a child (on average about $250,000). The program is part of the state Attorney General's Office of Family Initiatives and is currently offered in schools in Austin and El Paso. The story caught my eye because I haven't heard of any programs that focus on this angle -- the cost of being a parent. You can listen to the segment by clicking here.
