Bill O'Reilly: The New Face of Stop-and-Frisk in New York

The stop-and-frisk section starts at 1:58.
Bill O'Reilly thinks it is "hating America" to be concerned about a racially-biased police tactic that has stripped more than 2 million New Yorkers of their dignity over the past five years.
Bill O'Reilly thinks it is "hating America" to question the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of a program in which nine-out-of-10 people who are stopped and interrogated by police are completely innocent and let go without any charges or even a citation.
Bill O'Reilly thinks it is "hating America" to demand that the NYPD treat all New Yorkers with fairness and dignity in their quest to keep the streets of our city safe.
That doesn't sound like hating America to us. That sounds like standing up for equality and justice – sounds pretty American to me.

The only mistake of O'Reilly is always going way over the top with his statements, like the "Hating America". He doesn't need that.
Bill O'Reilly is right though and ACLU is wrong. No reason to be politically correct when New Yorkers safety is on the line. It's not racial profiling, it's statistics that helps to save lives. Thanks to "police tactics" like this NYC is the safest big city! Crime rates are constantly dropping and this happens for a reason. Why jeopardize these tremendous results in safety over some liberal agenda??

If the standard for judging policy is whether more or less people will die given a particular policy, then I have a laundry list of things we need to do.
1. Speed Limit: 5 mph should be the maximum allowable, probably we should just disable everything buy idling speed, and even then someone would probably die, so maybe cars just have to go.
2. Alcohol: This one is obvious, no drunk driving or any of the health problems related to excessive drinking. No one can argue that more people would die with it outlawed than without.
3. Fast Food: .....
The point is, you can't propose the standard for not releasing the photos as being that it will save lives, and that stop and frisk is ok because it will save lives, without having to embrace the entire range of things we could do that would save lives.
So, unless he wants to try and twist his logic back on its head, I'll just assume Mr. O'Reilly supports the 5mph speed limit(or outright banning of automobiles), a prohibition on alcohol and the outlawing of food that is unhealthy.
That tobacco products would also have to be eliminated goes without saying.
Bill sure does love this free country of ours.

It sounds like an invitation to "stop and frisk" O'Reilly the next time he is in New York.
Angela Quattrano
Getting stopped and frisked on the street for doing nothing would probably readjust his attitude.

Bill O'Reilly is EVERYTHING wrong with America.
If you want the antithesis of what our country was founded upon. Everything the strips freedom, liberty and due process O'Reilly is all for.
Dom Imus was booted off the air for hate mongering, recist remarks. While I am nott for censorhsip, it boggles my mind at the number of people that pay attention and give credence to hate mongers such as O'Reilly, Limbaugh and Beck. They call everyone else "Un-American", when it is THEY that are the most Un-American of all.
Matt
I believe nearly 100% of the people who commit violent crimes in NYC wear shoes. The police should just setup checkpoints at every intersection and frisk everyone wearing shoes.
This is behavioral profiling, which is shown to be more effective than racial profiling, and doing this will be a good use of police resources.
Also if you don't agree with this, you hate america and you want people to die.

I love Bill O'Reilly!!

ACLU= PINHEAD

Wake up wing nuts a Liberal who you think is evil incarnate is in power.Do you really want to be on the recieving end of such treatment?
Steve
As much as I hate to say it, racial profiling is nessesary. I have been mistaken for being hispanic many of times. I would be walking down the side-walk in CA. and would be stopped by the border patrol asking for identification. Rather than argue I would cooperate and produce it, and they looked pretty silly when they found my last name to be Norwegian and my birrhplace Providence, Rhode Island. Another example of this is if a young child (God forbid) were sexually assaulted. I would not be on the lookout for a black man but of a white suspect, the same goes with white collar crimes. Stereotypes exist, weather we like it or not...what thoughts go through your heads on the left when you hear the words "born-again christian"? EVERYONE profiles!

@Paul NY:
"Thanks to “police tactics” like this NYC is the safest big city!"
Far be it from me to accept a police state, to accept that in the eyes of law enforcement we are all criminals who just haven't been caught yet, to be subject to bodily search for simply walking down the street, in exchange for a modicum of misplaced faith that the police or the government or whomever is going to keep me safe. Too many New Yorkers, yourself included, seem disturbingly all too willing to bend over backwards at the expense of their civil liberties, and to the detriment of NYCs culture, out of blind faith that the illusion of safety might be just that much more believable.
i'll trust my own street smarts, and my own ability and willingness to stand up for myself, thank you very much. The best way to fight crime isn't to rely on law enforcement--it's to make it clear that you won't be a victim.
