On January 16, the ACLU launched a digital campaign and accompanying film asking people to take their own oaths to protect and defend the Constitution as Donald J. Trump takes the presidential oath.

The People’s Oath” aims to show the new president that that we are watching and stand ready to defend and protect everyone’s rights as the nation faces what we believe is the greatest civil liberties crisis of our time.

The campaign asks supporters to add their own ending to the phrase, “I do solemnly swear to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States to ensure…”

Oath-takers can then add their own photo or video to their oath and then share it with friends and family on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms, tagging each pledge with #PeoplesOath and @ACLU.

Since the campaign launched, nearly 100,000 people have taken the oath, vowing to protect a range of civil liberties, from abortion access to the freedom of speech. Among those who took the oath are Khizr Khan, the Muslim Gold Star father who held up the Constitution at the Democratic Convention and offered to lend it to Donald Trump; Jim Obergefell, the lead plaintiff in Supreme Court case that legalized same-sex marriage; Comedian Lewis Black; and Saturday Night Live’s Sasheer Zamata.

Below is a sampling of what the people have sworn to uphold.
