Tune in to Facebook Live Tonight and Help Us Stand for Everyone’s Rights. Tom Hanks and Tina Fey Will Be There.

Some of entertainment’s biggest names have gotten together to throw us a little party tonight on Facebook, and everyone’s welcome to join in.

Tonight at 7 p.m. EDT, Stand for Rights: A Benefit for the ACLUwill stream on Facebook Live as a modern-day telethon. The benefit will feature appearances by such A-listers as Tom Hanks, Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Padma Lakshmi, Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski, Jon Hamm, Uzo Aduba, Josh Charles, Amy Poehler, Zosia Mamet, Ike Barinholtz, and many more. Musical acts include a very special performance by Usher and The Roots, Ryan Adams, Norah Jones, and Jack Antonoff.

All the proceeds raised will go to what we do best: protecting the civil rights and liberties that truly make America great. Our work in the courts, in Congress and state legislatures, and in the streets is essential right now to hold off the worst of the Trump administration’s abuses. But it is also the collective will and tireless actions of “we the people” that serve as a bulwark against unconstitutional and wrong-headed policies and executive orders. By supporting our work through this telethon, we can fight even harder to defend the rights guaranteed by our Constitution.

Stand for Rights: A Benefit for the ACLU

The event is being executive produced by Friend of a Friend Productions in collaboration with The Huffington Post, Funny or Die, and Maggie Vision. It will broadcast live from New York City via the Facebook pages of Stand for Rights 2017, Funny or Die, and The Huffington Post. In addition, original videos produced by Funny Or Die will premiere throughout the broadcast and clips will be available on The Huffington Post after the event.

Dear ACLU, when will you list Black lives matter as a domestic racist group. I have tweets, videos showing them saying racist things.

Anonymous

Black Lives Matter is not a racist group. They are the poor and under served. They are the ones Jesus would help. So try not to hate and attack blacks. That is against what Jesus teaches.

.

David

Dear Anonymous, BLM is not asserting racial superiority over any racial group. In fact, they are promoting an advancement in equality.

My answer is, you won't see it happen. I've never visited an ACLU site and I'm seeing why. It is clearly a liberal organization and they only help people that they see can be descriminated against. Good luck to you. I'm still waiting for my white privilege to kick in.

Dear ACLU when will you add Antifa as a hate group that uses violence to scare and shut down a person's free speech. Do you have lawyers willing to go after them?

Anonymous

Stop trying to garner sympathy for fascists. You won't find any, nor do you deserve any.

It's a shame that the ACLU only fights for the rights and liberties that interest them. They do not support the entire Constitution.

Paula

Not true Vince. The ACLU has been protecting the constitutional rights of all since it's inception.

Vince

Hi Paula. I hope you can prove me wrong, but I cannot find any instance where the ACLU supported a persons right to exercise their second amendment rights for example.
