Associate Director, Affiliate Digital Communications [ASD-23]
American Civil Liberties Union Foundation
Affiliate Support & Advocacy Department, NY
For nearly 100 years, the ACLU has been our nation’s guardian of liberty, working in courts, legislatures, and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the United States. Whether it’s ending mass incarceration, achieving full equality for the LGBT community, advancing racial justice, establishing new privacy protections for our digital age, or preserving the right to vote or the right to have an abortion, the ACLU takes up the toughest civil liberties and civil rights cases and issues to defend all people from government abuse and overreach. With more than one million members, activists, and supporters, the ACLU is a nationwide organization that fights tirelessly in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and Washington, D.C., for the principle that every individual’s rights must be protected equally under the law, regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, national origin, record of arrest or conviction.
The ACLU’s Affiliate Support and Nationwide Initiatives office located in New York City seeks applicants for a full-time Associate Director, Affiliate Digital Communications.
The Associate Director, Affiliate Digital Communications guides and advises affiliates on communicating through digital channels ― including email marketing and affiliate web sites ― ensuring brand cohesion and positive experiences for digital audiences that mirror the quality of national office communications. By raising the level of affiliate communications and coordinating it with national efforts, the ACLU benefits from a consistent quality of communications across the country, regardless of which arm of the ACLU is supplying information to our shared audiences. The Associate Director, Affiliate Digital Communications reports to the Director of Affiliate Marketing and Communications.
The Associate Director, Affiliate Digital Communications maintains a shared nationwide email outreach platform and online marketing support program known as the Community Action Network (CAN), which serves participating ACLU affiliates. The Associate Director, Affiliate Digital Communications’ responsibilities include working with vendors to maintain and enhance the template and design migration strategies, training affiliates to use migration tools and the Drupal content management system, guiding affiliates in populating their new sites, and checking sites for quality assurance.
