ACLU joins coalition in opposing H.R. 2133, the CLEARR Act of 2017

On July 11th, 2017 the ACLU joined the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights and 39 other organizations in a letter to Congress expressing opposition for H.R. 2133, the Community Lending Enhancement and Regulatory Relief (CLEARR) Act. H.R. 2133 includes a number of provisions that would, under the innocent-sounding guise of “regulatory relief,” drastically undermine our nation’s most important civil rights and consumer protection laws.
