On behalf of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), a non-partisan organization with over a half million activists and members and 53 affiliatesnationwide, we wanted to share a very wise editorial from The Wall Street Journal on Monday, February 9th, which opposed mandating the use of EVerify for businesses receiving funds through the stimulus as the Kingston (R-GA) Amendment in the House-passed version would do. It is not oftenthat the ACLU and The Wall Street Journal agree on issues, so we did not want to pass up this opportunity to show the broad-based opposition to this deeply flawed employment verification program.
