On July 18, 2017, the ACLU joined the Southern Border Communities Coalition and Asian Americans Advancing Justice in support of amendment(s) to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Appropriations Act of FY2018 submitted by Representative Barbara Lee and Representative Jose Serrano to defund immigration enforcement activity in sensitive locations, including schools and daycares, hospitals and health centers, places of religious worship, courthouses, congressional offices and other government offices.
