ACLU Joint Universal Periodic Review Submission with UCI Law IJC

In a joint submission with the University of California Irvine, School of Law International Justice Clinic (UCI Law IJC), the American Civil Liberties Union submitted input for the Human Rights Council’s Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of the United States for the fourth cycle. This submission outlines the work of civil society to push for an independent National Human Rights Institution (NHRI) in the United States, particularly to identify and support redress for human rights violations and to provide advice aligned with the guarantee of human rights in law and policy.
