This January 27, 2016 coalition letter, signed by the ACLU, urges Congress against using the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to overturn the Federal Communication Commission’s (FCC) rulemaking on broadband privacy. By passing a CRA on the rule, Congress would eliminate important privacy protections for consumers, which include requiring opt-in consent before a broadband provider can sell its users’ information to third parties, as well as requiring notification when users’ data is breeched by hackers.
