Coalition Letter of Support for the Every Child Deserves a Family Act to the House Ways and Means Committee

ACLU signed coalition letters of support for the Every Child Deserves a Family Act (ECDF) that was sent to the House Ways and Means Committee (Ryan, Levin). The ECDF creates a federal standard of nondiscrimination by prohibiting discrimination in public adoption and foster care on the basis of the potential parents’ sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status. This bill also protects children in care by prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity of foster youth.
