July 20, 2021 ACLU support for the National Security Powers Act of 2021

The ACLU joined 19 other organizations in this letter to the Senate supporting the National Security Powers Act (NSPA). This bipartisan legislation, which reforms war and emergency powers, would be the most important recalibration of the balance of power between the President and Congress in decades. A similar letter was sent to the House of Representatives on September 30, 2021, in support of similar legislation, the National Security Reforms and Accountability Act (NSRAA).
