This sign-on letter was sent to President Obama and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Jeh Johnson to urge the Administration, specifically DHS, to end its practice of sending families to detention at the Berks, Karnes, and Dilley facilities. Instead of detaining families, we urge DHS to release families after processing at the border with information and support that will allow them to pursue claims for protection in the U.S.
