The ACLU joined this coalition letter sent June 13 to House leadership in support of S. 337, the FOIA Improvement Act of 2016. The letter urges the House to vote on and pass the bill, which the Senate approved unanimously and would amend the Freedom of Information Act to promote greater government transparency and accountability. Among other changes, the legislation would codify the presumption of openness standard for government disclosure of information.
