Human Rights Campaign
This site allows you to lobby your senators and representatives, and to immediately send them a message. The battles that are being fought regarding lesbian/gay lesgislation and litigation are chronicled throughout the HRC site, with the HRC link page containing approximately 55 links, many of them political in nature.
!OutProud!, The National Coalition for Gay, Lesbian & Bisexual Youth
The !OutProud! site deals with lesbian and gay issues as they pertain to young people. The site offers a wide range of resources for youth and educators, and is also home to QueerAmerica, a resource which allows the user to locate organizations in their area. The list of links to approximately 65 other lesbian/gay sites focusses on youth-related organizations and publications, with a listing of college groups that are on the Web.
Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network
GLSEN is a national organization with over 95 grassroots chapters working towards making schools safe and respectful places for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
Student Pride USA
Student Pride USA is the only national network of student-led gay-straight alliances (GSA) in over 700 high schools across the nation. Student Pride USA supports the work of youth through education, resources and materials towards creating safer and more respectful schools for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
National Gay and Lesbian Task Force
NGLTF, an organization which "seeks to build the political strength of the lesbian and gay rights movement at the grassroots level," has put its press releases and position papers online. There is also information on upcoming events.
Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation
GLAAD's web site serves to further its goal of fighting "the defamation of lesbians and gays and their enforced invisibility in the popular culture." The site defines the goals, the victories and the battles being waged by GLAAD, with regional chapters reporting on events in their areas.
The Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Teachers Network
GLSTN fights homophobia in schools around the country. Various informational and educational brochures can be downloaded from this site.
Hollywood Supports
This organization was "launched in the fall of 1991 by leading entertainment industry figures to counter workplace fear and discrimination based on HIV status and sexual orientation," with the prime objective of ensuring "a safe working environment free of stigma, fear and bigotry." In addition to the organizational information, users can also find sections on the seminars that Hollywood Supports offers.
NOW and Lesbian Rights
This page is part of the the National Organization of Women's web site. NOW's policies on lesbian rights are defined; there is also a short narrative on the history of NOW and lesbian rights.
The League of Gay and Lesbian Voters PA
This "non-partisan organization focusing on issues of special concern to the lesbigay community in Pennsylvania" utilizes its web site to further its primary activities of voter registration, and the education of voters/legislators/candidates.
The National Journal of Sexual Orientation Law
This publication, with the primary purpose of disseminating "information and ideas about law and sexual orientation in an efficient and timely manner," also tries to provide information distinct from recent "articles on sexual orientation in traditional law reviews."

This is a page done by Scott Safier of Carnegie Mellon University. The site pulls together many articles dealing with everything from religion, politics and the law, to explaining the hanky codes and giving the history of the rainbow flag. There are approximatly 40 links, including organizations, publications and individuals sites.
