NCPE Letter to House Opposing the A-PLUS Act and Voucher Amendments to H.R.5

This letter from the National Coalition for Public Education was sent July 8, 2015 to the House in advance of the chamber’s consideration of H.R. 5, the Student Success Act of 2015. The coalition opposes the inclusion of any provision in the bill, introduced by Rep. John Kline (R-MN) to reauthorize the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), that would create or lead to a private school voucher. The letter additionally states the coalition’s specific opposition to incorporation of the A-PLUS Act or any version of an amendment to allow Title I funds to flow to private school institutions.
