Representatives of BAYCC recentlyparticipated in an interfaith conference at the JewishCommunity Center in San Francisco.(U) reported that BAYCC was based on theSouth Bay Turkish cultural organization formed in 2002. Thisgroup was based originally in a space off Lawrence Expresswayin Sunnyvale prior to moving to its current home on TasmanDrive. The group meets regularly for Friday afternoon prayersfollowed by a communal lunch at the center. On this Friday,approximately thirty men were observed at the center. Thegroup sponsors communal celebrations of Islamic and Turkishholidays as well as promoting Turkish cultural events.
