This sign-on letter, sent on April 26, 2016 to the Department of Education Secretary John King, urges the Department of Education to issue regulations and comprehensive guidance to assist state and local education agencies in not only complying with new data reporting requirements in the Every Student Succeeds Act (“ESSA”), but also encouraging school leaders to make this information accessible, high-quality, and helpful in reducing inequities for disadvantaged students.
