The ACLU urges a YES vote on the Polis amendment, which would prohibit the use of funds on efforts to collect records in bulk under Department of Justice’s administrative subpoena statute (21 U.S.C. 876). We also urge a YES vote on Rep. Poe's amendment which would prohibit the use of funds by the Department of Justice to mandate or request that developers build weaknesses into their products to facilitate surveillance.
